A friend of mine who knows a thing or two about business wrote this to me the other day. I may be biased, but it makes a lot of sense to me!

"U-Haul isn't that cheap at
all. I rented a truck to move our junk from a storage unit to our house a few
years back. It cost a fortune after mileage and gas. Plus the truck was a piece
of crap, the brake light kept coming on and I feared for my life. Mileage is
something people don't think adds up but it does. Especially if you have to make
more than one trip.
As [John] said, Home Depot "loans" their truck, but when you are
done with the add-ons, it's still pricey. Renting by the hour is costly
especially if you don't know how to move. The reason they offer it is to help
people bring junk home they bought there. I'd feel guilty renting it for
something else.
Plus you don't get a hunky
expert to help you. Although you don't want to be moving pianos, you might want
to make it more obvious that you are actually part of the move. You don't
want people to think you just provide the truck and driver.
Ever rent a U-Haul? It's a PITA. All these forms and releases you
have to sign, lines, waiting for some guy to "check the truck in" when you
return it. You need a credit card deposit or first born.
Your service is a
fantastic one, much better than renting a truck."
